Redpaw watched Runningfern and then looked to Sunmist curiously. When she asked him to run ahead, he quickly nodded and darted back to get a small amount of herbs together. Once in the medicine den, he got two small piles, one of juniper berries and one of watermint. He was sure that they both helped bellyaches, but he wasn't sure which was would work faster or better, so he figured he'd let Sunmist decide. After all, she was the pro at this.

Sunmist took Runningfern into the den, and was pleased to find two piles of herbs awaiting her. " Thank you Redpaw." She said, picking the watermint from the pile. They both worked well, and she just wanted to get Fern fixed up. She turned to Fern once more- he looked upset. " Why don't you get some poppyseed for him as well?" She purred.
" Thank you Redpaw." Runningfern mumbled.

Redpaw nodded and quickly ducked back into the place where the herbs were stored and came back holding a poppy head gingerly in his mouth. He dragged a leaf over with one of his front paws and gently shook the flower head to deposit a few of the seeds on the leaf for the warrior. He quickly returned the dried flower to it's proper place and came back out.
He'd noticed that Runningfern looked upset, but he didn't want to ask why because of his shyness. He normally didn't talk to the patients if they were warriors, he just let Sunmist do the talking and scurried around, doing various chores like fetching herbs or cleaning up.

Having treated Fern with the help of Redpaw, Sunmist lay down in her den, yawning deeply. She looked around, seeing what a great help Redpaw was. She thanked Starclan to have such a great apprentice. But, suddenly, she felt lonely. Very lonely. It occured to her that he had a mother, as if she didnt know that, she was there when the birth had occured. But the thought came to her that she'd never be able to have kits. Her mind wandered freely. She wondered if her apprentice would ever feel that way. She gazed at him with gentle eyes for a long while. It had begun to rain.
