Fogpaw awkwardly twisted his body in midair, trying to accomadate to Cloudpaw's last defensive move. With his paws jutting out in the air, he could easily tear up Fogpaw's defenseless stomach with his claws. Fogpaw angled himself so that he would slide right between his claws. He landed on his back two paws, and got ready to lash out with his front.

If he managed to rake Cloudpaw's stomach with this attack, then the he would surely fight back. He would have to make his move quickly then dart out. If he wasn't nimble enough, then Cloudpaw would have time to rake the vulnerable skin on his belly, thus giving him the upper hand. As soon as he was balanced, he struck out with his claws towards Cloudpaw's exposed stomach, hoping, praying that his attack connected with the other apprentice.

Darkheart watched the apprentices and smiled in approval. The first strike being landed on Fogpaw would hopefully prove for the better in the long run. Fogpaw's ego would drop a few notches, bringing him back to reality. "But he needs to remember that this is a practice fight," he muttered to himself. "Not a fight against a rogue to the death." He motioned to Ottertail. "They are doing well," he commented. "That was a good blow that Cloudpaw struck! Perfect timing and aim." He was silent for a few seconds before speaking again and voicing his thoughts. "With luck, that will reduce Fogpaw's opinion of himself; that apprentice needs to be brought back down to earth."</sup>

<sup>Cloudpaw felt Fogpaws claws rake across his stomach, after which he defensively curled up into a tight white ball, no longer letting Fogpaw access his soft belly with his sharp black claws. Then Cloudpaw performed another roll, making it so his back paws were aligned with Fogpaws stomach. Then putting all of his weight on his front paws, he lashed out with his hind legs. He aimed a little less that a tail-length up from the dusty ground, making it so that he could, if he made contact, make the longest scratch possible on Fogpaws stomach.

He felt a trickle run down on his belley fur; they had both now shed some blood. He knew he wasn't injured terribly bad, but it stung and tingled, like the sensation he had when he was stung by a bee. That experiance made him stop liking the honey the medicine cat, Shadoweye, bought them. Speaking of Shadoweye, Cloudpaw suspected that they would both be going to visit him after this training battle was over. Cloudpaw thought this was what heir mentors thought by 'getting into it', sure there was soem bloodshed, and there may be a scar or two, but it went beyond blood and brawn, t went to brain. Them hurting each other a bit would have no comaparison to what a rouge, another clan, or another animal might do to them, so if they learned the moves now they may have a better chance of winning when more battles and fights reveal theirselves in the future.

Sitting by Darkheart, Ottertail chuckled to himself. "Fogpaw's mind may be up in the clouds now and then, but it looks like you have taught him to try to have a plan. Cloudpaw is what I call a 'winger'. Never plans stuff out, but he still isn;t too bad." Ottertail had just now watch his son recive his first blow, other than from himself, or when they had wrestled as kits. But Ottertail had no worries about him, if he was hurt than bad, he surely would have let them all know. "Fogpaw's moves do contain power, that was a good attack there. He re-acted well to Cloudpaw's defense, and caught Cloudpaw slightly off-guard, from the looks of it." Ottertail saw Cloudpaw curl as he had taught him to if you were on the ground and your belly was being attacked. Then Cloudpaw had iamed Fogpaw a back claw attack, but Ottertail didn't know if it would 'connect'...

A snowy white paw, claws extended, struck out at Fogpaw's exposed stomach. No time to think at all, Fogpaw performed the first defensive move that he could think of. Fogpaw's white body somersaulted over, baring his back instead of his stomach. His strong limbs protected his stomach as he went head over heels. Cloudpaw connected solidly, his strong leg striking with force on Fogpaw's back. A bloody red gash opened up, the vital essence of life pouring out by the second. Fogpaw fell to the ground, feeling the loss of the blood very strongly.

Darkheart held up his paw, stopping both apprentices. "Wait," he commanded, making sure that Fogpaw was not about to stand up and attempt to attack the other cat. "Fogpaw, are you okay? I'm not sure if you should continue..." The jet-black cat swiveled his head to Ottertail for support to his words. "After all, it is just a training battle, not a fight to the death." That was what he meant when he had said that Fogpaw sometimes got into his fighting to Ottertail. He could get so absorbed that he would forget to think about safety, to himself and to his opponent.

Fogpaw staggered to his feet, trying to convince his mentor that he was okay. "I'm fine, Darkheart, don't worry." He jumped up and down a few times to prove it to Darkheart. "See?" Fogpaw sagged limply to the side when he was sure that Darkheart was looking to the side. "Can we continue now?" he asked impatiently.

Darkheart glanced worriedly at Ottertail and Fogpaw. "Okay..." he finally broke down. "But only if you two promise not to beat each other up. Darkheart felt a nagging feeling present in his heart, telling him that he had not made the right choice regarding the matter. He looked at the apprentices, waiting for the word to start. He sighed. "Begin, again."

Fogpaw feinted to the left and ran as best as he could to Cloudpaw's right flank. He started to begin the motions of a bite, aiming at his tender skin.</sup>

If you need help just ask me, I can tell you what they are, we might end up redoing this challenge because the attack/defense moves aren't equal...a defense move is when your cat shy's away, ducks, dodges, or pushes back to protect it's self. an attack is when it try's to harm the foe, ok? you guys have two choices, Goldy you can modify your posts to fit the defense, or you guys can redo this challenge.))

Cloudpaw shifted all weight from his left flank, making it so he could roll away. Before he completly rolled he aimed a cuff for Fogpaw's ears, but felt nothing and didn't know if he had indeed hit him or missed because of his lop-sidded aim. He rolled twice then sprung up and faced his opponent. The torso of his body slightly lower than the hind end. He was ready for another attack but he was interupted.

"Very nice you two" Ottertail said as he stalked into the clearing "I think now would be a good time to stop. You have both delt three offensive blows, and three deffinsive moves. Darkheart what do you think? I think we should return to camp and let Shadoweye see them." Ottertail did not wait for Darkheart's answer. Instead Ottertail had turned and was already walking out of the training area. "Come now Cloudpaw," he said turning around to wait for his apprentice "You have both faught well, but the clan could use prey right now."

Cloudpaw returned to his straight position. "Good match Fogpaw, you're good!" he called to his old opponent. "You gave me a good stomach blow! Want to go hunting together?" He looked to Darkheat and Ottertail "If thats fine with you two?" Cloudpaw dipped his head respectfully to all of them "See you back in camp then shall I?" he said as he stalked ovcer to his mentor, and his father's side.

And on the two of them continued, back to their familiar camp. A pure white apprentice, with a dark brown and creme colored father. They may not look alike by sight, but they were more alike in their attitude, than anyone could ever guess.</sup>

You did a good job in having her mutter a prayer to starclan thanking them, and you also added that she covered it with bracken, however I didn't like how you just put 'They chased each other over small creeks, around lumps of brush, on the land of WindClan.' you could have added more detail there.
