Leopardfire waited a few moments before she followed him. She knew he needed to clear his head so she gave him some space. Still he wouldn't be able to carry all the herbs by himself so she needed to go. As she followed his scent through the forest she began to clear her head as well. Oh Starclan, am I really ready to be a mentor? It seems so hard to teach him what I know. Please help me. She sighed and checked the scent again to make sure she was on the right track.

He knew she was following him. He didn't care. reaching the spot where they had seen the badger he stopped and took in the blood soaked graound. How could anyone want to do this? To fight and feel the blood in their claws, watch it soaking into the earth from another creatures body? He shuddered. How could Starclan help him with this? His own mentor didn't know what to do with him. He was probably a bad apprentice. He knew one cat in Starclan that could, his mother. But she had never came to him before, so he didn't expect her to now. So he he just walked over to the leaves and picked them up, so much he knew he couldn't talk.

Leopardfire walked into the clearing, she could see him there but he had leaves in his mouth so he couldn't talk now. She sighed and picked up the rest of the leaves and started back toward the camp. They could talk when they got there and then she could say sorry for calling him selfish. She was really starting to feel bad about the whole thing. He was her apprentice she should really try to understand him better. Somehow they had to work things out or it could be bad for the clan.

His pawsteps were comforting to hear. Hers were getting annoying. He had just realized that it was probably stupid to have come back out here, with them just scaring off a badger and stuff, and her loud pawsteps were not helping. Why don't you just start screaming? He thought, than laughed at himself. Reaching the camp he wandered back into his den and spit out the leaves, then started sorting them, though it wasn't hard since there was only one kind. At least it gave him something to do as he waited for another "talk" with his mentor.

Leopardfire walked in after him and walked strait into the back of the den where they kept the herbs and put hers away quickly. She then walked back out of the den and returned with a mouse, she dropped it beside him and sat down. Her head started to throb again so she had to wait before she spoke. "Ashpaw, I'm sorry I yelled at you, I'm sorry I called you selfish. I just care about you and want you to be alright." Sighing she closed her eyes and counted to ten. "Please eat the mouse, so you can keep your strength up."

Bending down he took a bite out of the mouse. It was cold. "I'm fine. At least someone tells me how it is. It seems like everyone avoids me sometimes, so it's good to hear the truth from someone. Plus, it's my fault. I'm the one who acted mousebrained. Both back here and with the whole badger situation. You were just being my mentor. It's your job. I can't hold that against you." He said, and took another bite.

"You did better then expected of you back with the badger, you saved me. Plus, you had never learned any fighting moves." She watched him finally eat and smiled, maybe he would get better faster this way. "I know I was a little hard on you, but I am your mentor and your medicine cat and sometimes I get a little carried away with myself." She sighed and looked out the den, it was getting darker and cats were starting to slip into their own dens to rest for the night. "Tomorrow morning I want to go looking for water mint by the windclan border, are you up for that." She looked at him waiting for a reply.

"I already said that i deserved to hear what you told me. And I'm a medicine cat as well. Where the herbs are i have to go too. Whether I'm up for it or not. Which i am. Up for it i mean." He put in for good measures. he still wasn't tired, though he hadn't slept in a full day. Oh well, there was work to be done, like always, and if he didn't have time to rest, so be it. "Maybe I'll go clean out the herbs or something to keep me busy."

"No you wont Ashpaw, you can do that tomorrow, get some rest now, we can get back to work tomorrow." She walked over to her nest and began to move the moss around so it would be comfertable. She turned around to look at him once more, "if you really want to you can put your herbs away and check what we need to get tomorrow, but then you must rest so you can do something tomorrow." She turned back to her nest and laid down slowly so her head didn't throb. Taking a deep breath she began to drift into sleep.

Shrugging he went back into the storage part of the den. She was so deep into sleep she didn't notice him, even when he yowled after stepping on a rock. That's when he decided to clean it out. He sorted every herb, and took them and the rock outside. It only took about half the night...maybe a bit more. But he liked the alone time, the time to think and the quietness of it all. Finally he drifted off to sleep.

* * * In the morning after the sun had started to rise in the sky Leopardfire finally awoke. She looked around before she moved seeing that Ashpaw was still sleeping. Moving swiftly she slipped into the back of the den to see what they needed today. To her surprise all the herbs were sorted, and the ones then needed the most were near the front and the ones they had the most of were at the back. Shaking her head she backed out and walked out into the clearing. She made her way over to the fresh kill pile seeing that a patrol had already brought some back. She grabbed a large vole and carried it back to her den. Once there she took a few bites and then sat down, waiting for her apprentice to wake.

Yawning, Ashpaw streched out of his dreams. He liked the morning, always a sign of a new day ,with new things to learn. He just hoped this one wouldn't be aquwar d because of....well what had happened. He also wondered if she would be mad that he stayed up sorting the herbs. It had needed to be done, and sleep wouldn't affect how he worked. He was always deicated. Opening his eyes he saw his mentor watching him. "Uh...hi." He said, a bit startled.

"Good morning Ashpaw, I saw you were up a bit later then I asked you to be last night," she smiled, "so I let you sleep a bit late." She hoped he was refreshed since they had a few more herbs to collect before their stores were full. "The rest of that vole is for you, I have already had my share." She stood up and streched her back looking outside. It was almost sunhigh and they needed to get moving soon. "When you are done we are going to go along the Windclan border to get some more water mint, we are almost out. Then we need to get some marigold by the lake shore."[/color

Ashpaw nodded, he already knew this since he was the one who sorted the leaves. He was surprised she wasn't mad, after all he had disobeyed her. But he felt he had needed to do something to make up for the way he had acted yesterday. Eating the vole he sat up and said, "Are we leaving now?" Energeticlly like he usually would. He just wanted things to go back to normal.

"Of course we are leaving now, we have allot to do today since I want to have the herbs back by sunset so we can see what we are doing." She stood up and streched her limbs preparing for there work. "Lead the way to the water mint. I want to see how well you can find the herbs on your own." She smiled hoping that they could go on forgeting about what happened and focusing on the job at hand.
