[[haha kay. this will be the night and the morning from your last post =) ]]
It was cold, it was night. Spottedfrost walked unsteadily to the halfbridge. There she curled up into a warm ball and fell into an uneasy slumber.
She could see herself. That little kit she used to be. All the other kits played and pounced around her while she sat. The time seemed to pass quickly in her dream, going from day to night, and day to night again. But she'd still be there. Gnawing on a piece of fresh-kill, or sleeping. Soon she was an apprentice, still alone except for her mentor. But there was still the lonely look on her face. When she became a warrior, her head was bowed low, and her eyes never met the cheering crowd. Was this really her life?
Spottedfrost awoke to a new day. The moon was no longer up, and neither were the stars. And as the sun awoke, she did too. For a moment, she sat there, but she was freezing. So she raced back to camp, risking the chance of running into Runningfern. But she didn't. He may have seen her, but she didn't see him. "Sunmist?" She meowed loudly. [/color]

The sun reflected even more so in the bright waters, illuminating particles of dust and dirt thrown up by morning fish. He stared forward, as if willing the horizon to show him the future, wanting to follow his own feet to wherever they took him. His ears were perked, listening to the songbirds and the chirping animals. But all her heard was Spottedfrost... It tortured him, the look on her face when he said they should go... Just let her go. His brain whirred furiously around the scent she'd left him- Stop thinking about her. Her face...her soft fur... " Great Starclan," Runningfern murmered, " I think I'm in love." Impossible! It was only one meeting! He thought desperately. He believed that love came slow, that he shouldn't make any commitments at the moment. So he concentrated on a small silver fish, zipping to and fro, through the murky waters.
Feverfew...Honey... Poppyseed... She twitched in her sleep fitfully. Something was bothering her...she felt as if both Silver and Fern were in pain... But-but Fern seemed to be a happy pain.. " Sunmist!" " Hmmm...Yes?" She murmered, smacking her lips together with a satisfied yawn. " Yes dear?" She padded forward to meet the she-cat, searching her with her eyes for anything that may be amiss.

Spottedfrost smiled weakly then coughed out, "I think I have a chill. Last night I just felt like spending a quiet night out of camp, but I'm," She sneezed quietly, "freezing now." Hopefully Sunmist couldn't see the fact that she was sad, and just treat her.
"Is there," Sneeze, "anything you can do to help?" Maybe staying out last night wasn't such a good idea. But she just gave her fur a quick lick and looked up at Sunmist.

Sunmist sniffed her patient all over, checking for other things. Colds may come bugs too; ticks, mites...things that bite that carry disease. But she found none and, beckoning Spottedfrost to her den to be treated, began a long string of scolding and tongue lashing. " Why would you go outside to sleep?" She asked. Or, " What were you thinking?" and " Did you not figure you'd get a chill? What if it turned to greencough," She paused, and gasped in horror, " Or whitecough! We need to get you taken care of!" She went into her den. Something seemed to be bugging her as well, she mused, taking some herbs and honey from her stock.

Spottedfrost breathed in slowly. Then she exhaled, taking in the questions. "I was outside because.. well it was fairly warm outside when I fell alseep," She winced as she told that lie; it wasn't warm at all, "and I just figured it wouldn't get cold at night.."
The real answers to the questions she didn't want to say. Truely, she was thinking that she couldn't take seeing Runningfern so soon and that she didn't honestly think about catching a chill. But she didn't want to mention that.. Then reality hit her. She could get whitecough or greencough. What would happen to Runningf- No stop thinking about it..

Sunmist whirrled around to face Spottedfrost, and hissed. " Do not, lie to me," She shoved a bit of catnip towards the she cat, her gaze stone cold. " I've seen you, the way you look at him. Eat that." She gestured to the catnip with a paw, keeping a close eye on the she-cat as she continued. " You need to sleep it off and keep warm. I'll send for some more moss."

Spottedfrost looked at the catnip with her blue-green eyes. She swiped it up in her paw, then ate it off of it. "I'm sorry okay." She mewed, then dropped her volume down to a whisper, "But it's just not my favorite subject to talk about right now.." That much was true. It wasn't at all her favorite subject.
But maybe she needed to talk about it. Maybe than she'd understand how she was feeling. And when Runningfern came in, what would she do? She knew how the old Spottedfrost would react; she would pretend the whole thing never happened. But she didn't want to imagine that, not one bit.

Sunmist only grunted and walked out, having been satisfied in seeing Spottedfrost chew the catnip proper. She saw Runningfern just comming into the camp, and called him over. " Yes?" Runningfern bounded over, wondering if there was something wrong." Get me some new, dry, moss?" " Sure." he purred happily. He hadn't been thinking about Spottedfrost lately. It was one of those things where one accidentally forgets to think about something, due to other activities, and was less stressed for it. He wandered out and happily fetched the moss, bringing straight back into the den. " Got it!" He mumbled. Suddenly, he scented her.

Spottedfrost sneezed silently. Then she breathed in the comforting scent of the RiverClan camp. It felt nice to be back here, but she'd much rather be back at the lake swimming. The after-taste of the cat-nip started to kick in. Her nose scrunched up into her face.
Spottedfrost could hear cats' voices outside the den, but didn't pay much attention. Then it hit her. There was his scent. Her heartrace sped up and she hissed under her breath. This was way out of character for her. Usually she was this calm, not-in-love, quiet cat. What happened to her?
Runningfern.

Runningfern averted his eyes sheepishly. Spottedfrost was sick? At that thought he rushed over to her, nudging her gently away from the nest. He rearranged the moss just so, so as he was sure she was comfortable, and then nuzzled her gently back to it. " Spottedfrost, are you okay?" He sniffed her all over, trying to determin the exact problem. " Sunmist?"
" She's gone and gotten herself a chill, Runningfern. Spent the whole night outside." Sunmist said as a matter of factly, not taking her eyes away from the herbs she was arranging.
Runningfern gasped. " Spottedfrost are you insane? You could have gotten whitecough, or something could have killed you! What if a fox had found you and you got hurt?" He paced back and forth in the small den, ranting at the she-cat; softly, he said, " If you had died...I don't know what I would have done if I lost you-" Horrified about what he'd just said, not to mention admitted, he sat.

Spottedfrost looked up at him sheepishly. "Geez Runningfern. I'm fine. I knew the consequences, but I did it anyway." Her face fell slightly, then she added in a whisper, "I don't think it would have mattered much if you'd lost me. It would have mattered much much more if something had happened to you." She licked him gently on the head, trying to soothe him. The last time she'd gotten sick, she'd recovered fairly quickly. Assuming she was in good health, she should be better in no time anyway.
Not even noticing Sunmist, Spottedfern curled up into a tight ball. Her eyes closed, preparing to fall asleep. Of course she fell asleep in a matter of seconds, due to the fact she got almost no sleep last night. But with Runningfern there, she had a peaceful, purring sleep.

Sunmist snorted with disgust. Sappy little things. She hated that. The medicine cat sighed heavily. " I'm going for more poppy seed. Stay here if you want, but you cannot sleep here. Other cats need this den too." Before walking out she added, " When she wakes up take her to the warriors den."
Runningfern nodded as the medicine cat left. He decided to wait just outside the den for Spottedfrost to awake and, with one last comforting lick on the forehead, he left her to her dreams.
Throughout the day he checked on her, licking her forehead and checking her temperature to make sure it wasn't rising. Then he'd lie down outside the den and bask in the sunlight, not moving for anything. He dreamed about Honneystream once more, but this time it was a good time. They were walking through the forest, hunting and playing with each other, trying to out do the other with more prey. She turned around and ran off, trying to find yet another piece of difficult fresh kill. He followed, a squirrle and a vole in his mouth. She found a bird, jumped and caught it, then turned around to face him. But now she was not Honneystream; She was Spottedfrost.
