Chicoryshard wasn't one to comfort another in fact she was there for a different reason. Apart form her affection to Redbreast she loved no one. "Blackpaw!" She hissed grinding her teeth as she limped in his direction. "In my attempt to get here I stepped in a nettle patch" she said lifting up her paw that was now adorned with thorns. She felt stupid that she had managed to injure herself in such a way.

Blackpaw looked up at Chicoryshard.Okay start taking the thorns out while I get some marigold. He got up and started toward a small herb pile Redbreast and him had managed to get.He grabbed a few marigold leaves and walked over to Chicoryshard. He put them down and started taking needles out. When he was done he chewed up the leaves into a pulp and put them on the pad.Be careful.

"You didn't need a quiz after all, Blackpaw." The cat smiled, crouching low on the damp floor. Redbreast dropped a 'sack' of herbs [the sack made of cobwebs] onto the herb pile he had created; a rather small place he had dug into the wall and floor. It wasn't a large place, Bluejay could fit her head and shoulders inside if she really wanted to, though it was a tight squeeze. With Blackpaw and Bluejay's help, the small cave had been lined with cobwebs, mainly to keep the herbs free of dust and dirt.
Bluejay wasn't far behind, two bulbs of garlic in her teeth. She sneezed after dropping them into the cave, shaking her head. "That's all I could gather, Red."
"That's it?" Redbreast did not sound as concerned as he felt; what if they ran out? There wasn't much they could get. "That's too bad," he said slowly. "But it'll have to do. How is your paw feeling, Chicoryshard?" He asked suddenly, turning to her while letting bluejay squeeze past him and go deeper into the tunnels. "I could give you something for pain, if you need it."

Chicoryshard bit her tung lightly as he pulled the thorns from her foot. Be careful. He had said and Chicoryshard was about to lash out at him that she knew that already when a familiar voice was heard. She turned to see Redbreast the fact that she was a cat hid the fact she was blushing. She felt slightly uncomfortable as she attempted a pained smiled "No no its alright... She looked away hoping her gaze wasn't giving her away. She glanced at Blackpaw the one who was treating her. Am so stupid he's a medicine cat for crying out loud. Why did she need to feel this emotion that she'd left behind so long ago.

Redbreast grinned. "Good, always knew you were a strong cat." A good cat too, he thought, mentally chuckling at her behavior. He'd seen it before; Thrushwood, in fact. The thought slightly saddened him, and his grin faltered.
The medicine cat heard his apprentice's comment and, glad for the interuption, said: "I'm really not sure, Blackpaw. Days, weeks, months...years. I fear it will end badly, though," he said, closing his eyes and shaking his head. His father had nearly told Redbreast it would end badly. With a slight huff, Redbreast perked his ears, listening. Where is Thrushwood? He wondered. He should have come through here already, he had been the one with the last herb bundle. Little pest was probably defying his older brother's orders and going off to his friends, he thought with a chuckle. Little pest.
"Nervous?" He mumbled, shrugging. "I was at first. I was when I saw the glimpse of strange-smelling fur leaping through our terratory. I was nervous then. Not so much anymore. I adapt," he grinned. "To feeling a certain way."

Strikefrost shook her paws free from mud and moss. Her tail fluffed out in disgust. She could not believe she was having to live here. Her eyes were large as she scanned the area for the other cats. She saw Blackpaw, Bluejay, Chicoryshard and Redbreast... Well she didn't want to bother Blackpaw too much...he looked nervous as it was. Chicoryshard looked like she was a bit on the grumpy side today... So she went straight for Bluejay. " 'Ello dear." She said in her smokey voice. "What's the news?"

"No need to be sorry. You may as well adapt some day." Redbreast chuckled, glancing at Chircoryshard in a friendly way. His ears perked. "Now, now, it's not that bad," he purred. "We may have a shortage of some minor herbs, but nothing serious." It was a tiny white lie; maybe a bigger-sort of lie, but Redbreast's face didn't give anything away. He smiled at the young cat's words. "Why," he said. "That idea isn't too bad, Blackpaw; when you see Elkstar, I'd tell him that." He urged, trying to get his apprentice to calm down a bit with some good ole' self-esteem boosts. Feeling far more irritated that nervous now, Redbreast gazed back behind him, searching the tunnel for his younger brother. "Fool," he grumbled, kneading the soil.
Bluejay's head snapped up from her cleaning, so content that she had hardly heard the other cat approach. "Oh, oh!" she smiled, "hello Strikefrost! Other than Thrushwood worrying me sick 'cause he's a mousebrained kit--"
"We're still waiting for him to bring the rest of the herbs," Redbreast cut in, explaining.
"He probably wandered off to hunt. He thinks this whole thing's a joke or something, but he's seen 'em too, he should know better." Her ears drooped. "He was right behind me. I dunno where we went." Bluejay scoffed, her tail whisking back and forth. "Anything new with the rest of the clan?"

Chicoryshard yawned as the talked about there nervousness. She didn't really feel frightened so she wasn't. "My paw is fine" she said looking at it . She wanted to laugh at the fact that it looked like a kit had chewed on it. The pain from it was dull and more annoying than anything else. She smiled back at him and then looked away still secound guessing herself.
A tabby she-cat walked toward them with garlic, moss and some unidentifiable plant in her mouth. She said something that was muffled by the plants in her mouth. She dropped them down by Blackpaw and said "I thought i'd help out" she smiled and glanced at bluejay and smiled.
Chicoryshard looked up to see her sister in front of her. That annoying Whisperwind. She looked at what she'd brought in and pointed out "Whisper thats not a healing plant".

Strikefrost sat with her tail curling around her feet. She began pushing around and sorting herbs, like she had done once when she was quite sick with a bad, almost greencough like cold. She saw some garlic and placed some over here, while a small bit of poppy seed went over there. It was good to keep them well separated, she thought.
Ah, but as she listened, she heard the sibling strife. Well, what could ever come of this petty fight any way? But, still... she wasn't all too fond of that Thrushwood. He had a look to him- a feel to him that made the fur on her back prickle with unease. His hatred for Redbreast and, mostly Bluejay, had her watching her back constantly. He could very well snap, any moment, and no one would know what to do. " I am sure Thrushwood will be just fine, love." a small purr erupted from her chest, but it was also a nervous one. " I wouldn't be worrying too much about 'im though, love. I'm not sure if it is the right investment of your emotions, at the moment." Her voice was heavy with exhaustion. She was worried about the clan, constantly, and worried about those damned bobcats. She was running herself ragged, and needed a good break... or some thyme. But she was not prepared to ask for any. She was (trying to be) a stoic. So she would just have to bear it. " Nothing new that I know of..." She stretched her paw and began gnawing a small splinter from her pad. She pulled it and spat it out. " Do you?"

[Whew. Dx]
Bluejay hardly glanced at Whisperwind as she entered; a quick smile was enough to be courteous.
Redbreast turned slightly as Whisperwind passed him, smiling again. "Starclan knows we could use the help." He looked quickly to Chicoryshard, chuckling. "Maybe not; but we can always use it for some sort of material, right Blackpaw?" He grinned, again trying to lighten the mood. He motioned with his paw, a silent signal to his apprentice to move the garlic in with the rest. He turned to Strikefrost as if he wanted to say something, but didn't, turning again.
"I guess you're right," she sighed. She turned to watch Redbreast, her eyes cold. Se still hadn't told anyone about Thrushwood allowing two [maybe more! she thought angrily] other-clan cats walk nonchalantly over the border. "He better bring those herbs though, or I'll have his tail." At the return or her own question, Bluejay looked rather blank. "Naw, nothin' new. I mean, other than all of...this. I just got to these tunnels. I didn't see any of those dirty thieves on my way here, but the place stunk of them. I think they took our camp," she added sadly. Her ears perked slightly. "Thrushwood!"
His mouth was full; it was 'bagged' in a large leaf he had found near the humans home. Some sort of fancy exotic plant. Redbreast had told him it wasn't poisonous. It was the medicine cat who had, in fact, told him to use that exotic leaf to wrap the herbs in. Good cat, he thought bitterly. Chircoryshard. He spotted her a few steps behind Redbreast, and he smiled despite the large leaf tips in his jaw.
"Thrush," Redbreast began sternly. "Where have you been?"
The young tom dropped the bundle of random herbs at Redbreast's paws; seeds, plants, a couple honeycombs, and some moss. He glanced up, frowned, and shrugged. "Nowhere, really." He croaked, continuing down the tunnels. As he passed Chicoryshard, he turned his head to smile at her. "Hey Chicoryshard," he said, his voice suddenly softer, kinder; despite the rough edge it had to it.
Sounds like he needs to hack up phlegm, she thought. Bluejay blinked, watching her brother. "You sound funny."
"Bit of a sore throat, that's all." He grinned, the plans revolving in his head. Might as well make her last ounce of life a happy one. Revolting. He was frowning deeply in his head; his eyes gave it away. He shut them, blinked, and opened them wide, getting rid of the emotion. "I don't need anything," he said quickly as Bluejay made a move for the different piles. "I'll be...in a tunnel somewhere," he chuckled, moving past Strikefrost with a slight nod. Quickly, he urged himself to a jog, hurrying down the tunnels.
"Wonder where he's off to so fast," Bluejay said aloud.
"Probably off to find that friend of his."

Strikefrost's deep blue eyes narrowed coldly as Thrushwood came in and exited, in turn. She always had a bad feeling about him, but she didn't want to say anything in fear of insulting the other siblings. Her fur bristled with unrest. She kept her calm as the tom brush passed him, but she didn't bother trying to hide her true emotions as she let out a slight hiss. He should be helping his clan, not going off exploring in the tunnels! She curled her tail around her feet as she watched him go. She wasn't worried about him. She was worried about Bluejay. Strikefrost looked to her friend. " Bluejay, love, would you like to come hunting with me? The elders are grumbling about havin' low food."
