A calico she-cat walked silently through the undergrowth. I have been on Thunderclan's territory for almost half a moon now, and yet no one had caught me yet! Acorn purred proudly at the thought. Acorn's ears shot up at the sound of a mouse scurrying through the undergrowth. Instinctively, Acorn dropped into a hunting crouch. She pads up toward the sound. Now, she could just make out the figure of the furry creature. hehe.. Acorn was just ready to pounce when she stepped on a dead leaf. The mouse scurries under a tree. Acorn hissed in anger. Trying to forget what just happened, Acorn curls up in a ball next to a tree, trying to sleep.

Darkthorns deep eyes shone with the raw, animalistic intensity of the hunt. He focused immensely forward, his paws skimming the ground lightly, his claws poking out from his fur covered toes with every step. The dark tom lifted his nose to the air, parted his jaws, and stopped. That was odd, the smell was new, unfamiliar and... no clan matched it. It was cat, though. Rouge... he thought stiffly, sniffing the air for Dante. That would spell trouble for him, if Dante was there he'd be done. Although, he didn't smell his brother this time, and relaxed slightly, but not entirely. Some cat was in his territory. He stole up upon the thing, the wind blowing in his favor, and stood calmly. He was going to try and do this without getting his tail torn off. "Hello?" He said, meekly at first, then stronger "Hello? Who are you?"

(Don't worry if she attacks you, shes only 7 moons) Acorn's ears pricked up at the sound of a cat's voice. "Huh? Hello?" she asked? "Is anyone there?" Acorn sniffed the air. Clancat..A Tom... she thought. Acorn prepared herself for a battle. She sniffed again, trying to pinpoint the tom's place. There he is... Acorn thought to herself. She sat down, stareing at the spot with peircing eyes as if it were prey, and waited. "show yourself!" yowled Acorn.

(don't worry about it, that's the fun ) The young warrior flushed out his broad chest, and looked around. He could see her, but could she see him? Darkthorn stood tall, peering over the brush, his eyes smiling, but his face expressionless. How old was she? He would never have had the nards to stand up to a clan warrior. "Me show myself? I'm sorry, but you must be mistaken. You're in my territory here, so I believe you should be the one showing yourself." He stopped, shocked at his forthrightness, and sighed quietly. He was growing up, and he saw it in himself. Stress made him calm, and time made him cynical. Darkthorn wondered if the she-cat was as good as her word, and from her word he gathered that she thought she could beat him. She still sounded young, and this amused him. His amusement stopped, however, as he remembered himself a few moons ago. "Come on out then." He said forcefully, yet kind.

Acorn took a pawstep foreward, swishing her tail across the ground. Her right paw ran right on top of a fox-trap, clamping it shut. Acorn yowled in pain. The more she pulled, the more the trap's teeth cut into her paw. She clawed at the ground, hissing in anger and pain. Acorn bit and clawed at the fox-trap, yet she couldn't free herself. Water began welling in her eyes. "Help!" Acorn yowled.

Darkthorn started, pausing for just a second before gathering himself and bounding towards the howling. He peaked over the hill and paused, gazing down at the she-cat with her maimed paw. "Wait! Don't struggle, hang on!" He let his paws throw him down the hill and past the trees, the leaves hissing by his black ears. He skidded to a halt at the bottom of the small rise, examining the she-cats paw gingerly. "Don't move." he instructed, finding a thick stick, wedging it between the beasts teeth and pressing down with the whole force of his body. It opened just enough for the young cat to slip her paw out, but the stick had begun to form a hairpin crack, and time was running out. "Hurry!" he cried, the stick cracking with a sickening click. "Get out!"

Acorn jerks her paw out of the trap. "T-thanks.." Acorn said stareing at her paw. "For saving me.." Acorn turned, stareing at the trap with a large branch in it. "How did you know how to do that?" Acorn asked. There was no anger in her voice.

Darkthorn let the stick go and watched it snap in half, before turning back to the young she-cat. His eyes were worried for a moment, but then turned to a smile, as he began to groom the splinters from his dark fur. "Experience." he answered simply, running his tongue over his flank again, before straightening up and looking her dead in the eyes. "That paw looks a bit sore," he meowed frankly, "you should get that looked after. Do you have a home? Are you a loner?" He deserved to know, he told himself, she was trespassing on his clans territory, after all.

Acorn looked down at her paw again. It was pretty sore and bleeding a bit. "Im a loner.." She said. Is he trustworthy enough tell what happened to my family? she thought. "What about you? Your a clan cat arent you?" she asked.

Darkthorn nodded solemnly, not surprised in the least. She seemed like she wanted to talk, but he was worried about her wound. Maybe he could convince her to come back with him, so it didn't get too infected. "Well," he started, liking his chops with his round, pink tongue. "Yes, I'm a Thunderclan warrior." He checked the sun. It peaked just over head, pronouncing that noon-high was upon them soon. "I was just made a warrior, actually. I used to be an apprentice, Darkpaw, but Ravestar, my clans leader, decided I was finished my training and he promoted me." He caught himself all but too late, realizing how young that sentence sounded. The rambling about his being promoted, and his outright pride was kit-like, infantile. Too late to change it now, he figured, puffing out his dark chest. "Anyway, that paw...it looks painful. Shall I take you to see our medicine cat? I'm sure she'd look after you-" he paused a moment, gazing at the young she-cat. "But, first off, you need to tell me who you are and what your intentions here, are." He'd already brought one dangerous cat into the clan, they don't need another.

Why do you wanna know...? Acorn wondered. "Umm... i really don't have any intentions." Acorn mewed. Acorn seemed unsure about him, and she began licking her paw. "I'm Acorn, and I don't need help." She said, becoming stubborn again. "See? I can walk just fine!" Acorn got up, but quickly lost her balance on three paws. "Ow.." She complained.

Darkthorn sighed inwardly, rolling his eyes to the tree tops, amused at her young spirit, as well as thoroughly exasperated. Her obvious whining about her paw proving his point. "Well, if you think that you are so capable of taking care of yourself, you can march your little rear-end right back to where you came from." He said this lightly, hoping not to actually chase her away. He figured he would reinforce this, and hoped that the mention of the large cats the clans have been worried about will keep her here. No one cat can take on one of those large cats. "Unless, you want to face those huge cats all by yourself. You know about them? I heard that only one could take a whole fox by itself and win too. Eats them for breakfast, those savages."

Acorn suddenly felt a flash of anger run through her when he mentioned where she came from, and tried not to show it. "Take on a fox single pawed? Yea right!" She mewed. She did somewhat beleive it, she just didn't want to show it. She looked at her paw, it was bleeding badly. "All right... i'll go.." She mewed "But im not staying!" (maybe she will i dont know)

Darkthorn looked around him calmly, and shrugged his black shoulders. "Oh-right then. Believe what you want. In any case young Acorn, you need to leave. I will not fight an injured cat," He said skeptically. He wondered if she'd really get hurt by walking around on that lame foot of hers. Oh well, he thought. She'll be easy to get rid of later on. "But if you don't leave soon, or join the clan, some other cat who has less qualms about injuring a defenseless cat will come an' finish you off. I am doing you a favor here, young Acorn." He looked at her paw again, then at the fox trap. I should tell Ravenstar about that, he thought. When I get back.

Acorn let out a hiss. "Don't worry, im not staying." Acorn said stubbornly. "Come on, lets go. Where is it?" She tried getting up again, but it didnt take long for her to lose her balance. She hissed again. Acorn leaned up againest a tree, and managed to stand. This is gonna be hard....
