The Beginning of winter nears. As the bears of Ellesmere Island prepare for the long harsh winter that lay ahead of them, the humans' homes grow closer through their territory. The ice is thinner each winter as the climate climbs higher than normal. Many bears have died of heatstroke and others of just hunger. Even though the three bear tribes are in war they must band together to save all of their kind from utter destruction.
Hunters venture out into the wilderness more often, and when they leave they have killed mothers, fathers, sisters, and brothers. Cubs have been left defenseless and motherless, and as the territory gets smaller they are forced to move further and further into other bears' territory and hope not to be killed.
