Day Time Surprises [Raven]

Ravenstar's hackles began to rise as the bobcat neared. He looked to Dusktalon as Dusktalon dipped his head and moved towards the tunnels. He knew Dusktalon didn't really want him to follow him into the tunnels, into 'Windclan Territory'. He flicked his ears back and shifted into the shade of the large rock and pine trees, using his black coat to hide him. I can't be seen. He watched Dusktalon at the tunnels, he swallowed nervously and changed his gaze to the bobcat, he had now stopped just above the tunnels and was looking into Thundeclan territory. Ravenstar took one last breath and held it, he flexed his claws as the bobcats gaze turned onto his.

Large brown paws tredded calmly and yet slowly across the vast Windclan plains. Darn Hunters and Fighters, always meddling with our business. The large bobcats name was Taku, one of the leaders personal guards, or sentries as they called them. Might as well look around the borders, see if any of those small prey cats are around. A small evil smirk spread across his face as he thought of attacking yet another innocent clan cat. He sighed and slowly made his way towards the forested area, home to him, but not to his clan. Shaking his head he paused and rubbed a paw over his face, a sad attempt to wake himself up. He paused on a small rise, and little did he know the entrance to the tunnels. He crouched and looked into the forest, the smell of clan cat was thick in the air. Lifting his nose into the air he sniffed then froze as he spotted a set of silvery eyes in the shadows. He smiled and evil smile and launched himself off into the forest after the silver eyed cat.

Mousedung! Ravenstar jumped to his feet and whipped around. He knew he couldn't out run the cat, but maybe he could outmaneuver? He jumped at the tree and pushed himself off into the forest, his shoulder nicked a branch, causing him to wince. As he landed Taku landed behind him and lashed out at his back, swiping him off of his paws and making him slide through the leaves and hit a rock. He pushed himself to his paws again and looked into the eyes of he larger, stronger, cat. He bared his teeth and unsheathed his claws as the bobcat launched himself at him. He jumped in the air and landed on the scruff of the large bobcat, he clung to him for a moment then pushed off, landing on a rock not to far away, he scratched and scratched till he made it to the top. Taku turned and came after him again.

Clan cat! He snapped his jaws together just under the clan cat as it jumped on him then away. Darn thing is so fast! The chase was on. He jumped and clawed onto the rock just after Ravenstar, chasing him just a step behind. What seemed like a few hours was actually only a few seconds, if not a minuet. Finally the clan cat let up and tumbled to the ground.

He had jumped from rock to log, under, over, under, over. But finally Starclan couldn't help him anymore, he slid down a mossy rock and onto the ground, they weren't far from the Windclan border. He whirled around as Taku jumped down upon him, swiping him up with a paw and tossing him like a toy towards the boarder, sending him rolling onto the hard ground, seemingly lifeless.

Dustpaw's fur rose as he looked out. He was debating weather to run and find Dusktalon. No sooner the thought came Dusktalon appeared through the bushes and his deputy was running too. Dustpaw didn't have to to react and the other tom shoved him into the tunnels and pulled the large bush branch across the entrance and hide in the shadows. "Dusktalon I-"

Dusktalon was fast and swift as he pulled the branch across. He pered out and saw the large luming figure of a bobcat stalk into the forest. When Dustpaw began to speak he shot him the look to shut his trap and he watched with narrowed eyes.

Dustpaw froze as he too saw the bobcat. Memorise of the awful beasts came to him. He then saw his parents dead with several other cats on the battle feild, the moor. He shook and he dropped to his belly, ears back. He hadn't seen Dusktalon so tense since the invation at the camp. Suddenly Dusktalon rose up infront of him.

Dusktalon could hear something like fighting. He turned to Dustpaw. "Dustpaw I want you to go to Spiritwhisper and tell her to send a patrol to each of the known entrances of the tunnels. I want all tunnel entrances guarded till I get back." Dusktalon order and began to push the branch back. Dusktalon couldn't let someone get hurt, especialy a leader who has aclan to leader above ground.

Dustpaw got up. "But-"

"Go!" Dusktalon ordered.

Dustpaw nodded and he ran down the tunnel toward the main stay. His paws carrying him swiftly he feared for Dusktalon. and his clan. He suddenly was determinded to send out the order. "I won't fail." He declared willing himself to run faster.

Dusktalon was large and muscular. He bounded through the forest. He had covered the tunnel entrance again and he felt his fur brisle and the power build in his paws. His claws sliding out. His dark eyes narrowed and then the bobcat came into veiw. And he saw Ravenstar on the ground. He almost froze but he couldn't stall around such a large animal. He then launched himself into the bobcat with a powerful leap. He could hear the blood in his ears and he shoved all his weight on the bobcat and dug his claws in it. Starclan protect me! He prayed.

Taku smiled his evil, toothy smile and started towards the midnight pelted leader. "No use trying to..." He was cut off by a thump onto his side, blood welled up around the scratch wounds Dusktalon inflicted. He hissed a terrible hiss and turned his head, attempting to bite the young looking clan cat. He growled and rolled onto the ground, hitting his head on a large rock as he did. He 'roared' in pain before jumping to his paws and glaring at the cat. He spoke but his language was hardly audible to the clan cat, he spoke strangely. "I go now cat, I be back". His accent was thick. With a final snort he turned and charged back to the Windclan border and up onto the plains.

Ravenstar was indeed almost knocked out, and he happened to have one of those flashbacks you get when you suffer from a hit on the head. His ears flicked back as the bobcat ran by, but his eyes were still closed. He mumbled something so quietly that Dusktalon was barely able to hear him. "Moonshine I'm sorry, I should have been there". His paws twitched, "Rose, Flay, I'm so sorry! Dusk....." He shifted slightly as the memory passed and he opened his eyes, he sat up a little bit and looked around, blinking.[/color]

Befroe Dusktalon knew what he had done the Bobcat was fleeing. His eyes watching as it ran away. Everything seemed to be fast and slowly his focus on realitly came back. Breathing hard he was tall and then he turned to the sound of Ravenstar's voice. He stared energy flowing through him. The tom had to shake his head to clear it adn he ran over to Ravenstar's side. Dusktalon was close enough to hear several diffrent names and then Dusk... "Ravenstar I heard the bobcat and saw him and then he attacked are you alright?" He asked.

The leader stared towards the ground for a moment, remembering Moonshine and his time as a loner. He laid his head on his paws and sighed sadly. Then he froze and raised his gaze to meet the seemingly frantic Dusktalon. "Dusk....talon. How old are you?" He paused for a moment before continuing, he stared forwards again, towards Windclan. "For a few moons when I was a warrior I went loner." He wasn't sure why he was saying any of this, perhaps it was the bump on his head? "I was foolish, fell in love, then she was murdered. Two of three kits died, I took the last living one to Windclan."

Dusktalon stood his paws seemed to be glued to the ground. He couldn't help but stare. What was Ravenstar getting at? Leaving Thunderclan for loner haveing kits with another loner? "I'm 29 moons. Ravenstar what are you saying?" The took the last kit to Windclan? Your fatehr was a great cat perhaps one you you will know him... He rememebred cats telling him nothing but his father was a respectible cat. But how could this?

The black tom cat blinked a few times, he wasn't even sure what he had said. I came to the clan twenty nine moons ago. He perked his ears I was a loner twenty nine years ago. Slowly he pushed himself to his paws and wavered slightly, almost falling over. He paused for a moment then finally looked up, unsure what to say. He didn't even know he had said anything. But finally he said something, half to him self. "I was a loner twenty nine moons ago." Shaking his pelt he let the dust fall to the ground slowly as he lifted his head to meet Dusktalons eyes, but he said nothing.[/color]

"A loner?" Why would a loner be leader of a clan... But then again Dusktalon wasn't Windclan but was raised there he didn't have the right to say such a thing, consitering he was deputy. "What happened tweny nine moons ago that makes you ask me of my age?" He asked. Dusktalon had a fleeting feeling, but how could it be possible? He wanted to ask several questions. But things were pointing their claws to him being related to Ravenstar. Or maybe even a tighter relationship. Could this be his father who he never knew? If so what about his mother and siblings he spoke of earlier? Why hadn't he known?
