Dustpaw had left into the tunnels early this morning leaving his sleeping clanmates inside. His hate for Blackpaw stronger as he thought about it how the medicine cat apprentice made him to be the bad guy. He didn't do anything only words and then Blackpaw attacked from behind. "Stupid cat!" He hissed and broke into a run as he found an exit to the forest it was brighter out. He was tired of the tunnel he wanted the open moor. His head was looking at the ground and then he hit something and was knocked down. He hissed. "Why I-" He glared up.
Dusktalon had taken up deputy position. Elkstar had dissappered suddenly and the clan all voted him to be deputy. Dusktalon though he had the clans approval he'd never try to take Elkstar's place till he came back. He watched from the high point in the shadows and watched as an apprentice rose and took off for the tunnels. Dustpaw... He thought and then jumped down silently from his perch and followed the apprentice. He then watched as the dust coloured apprentice ran into the open tunnel exit that lead to Thunderlcna. He growled lowly. Where did he think he was going. He followed after at a brisk pace. The air cold on his fur.

The duties of a deputy were complicated, but the duties of a leader? Well lets just say the duties of a leader is more complicated than anyone could think, or imagine. But still, the other cats respected you, unless your past proved otherwise.[/cener]
Long hook like claws scratched the ground of the Thunderclan Leaders den, their owner flicked his ears back and yawned a huge toothy yawn. Last nights sleep wasn't bad, he hadn't had any nightmares about Fox, or Moonshine for that matter. He froze and let himself lay down again, staring at the wall of the den. Moonshine, he flicked his ears back and stared at the floor. He wanted to forget about his unfortunate love, but sometimes he couldn't. Shaking his head he pushed himself to his paws and started towards the door, shaking his pelt as he walked so that he could get rid of the moss. He stared out over the clearing, wondering where everyone was at, Probably still asleep. He turned and made his way down the rocky slope and padded out into the clearing. I'll make a soul patrol then. Turning he made his way to the camp entrance and out into the forest.
The forest was cool, but the sun shone brilliantly down into the forest, illuminating every leaf and puddle of water. Leafbare was coming closer and therefore the weather would soon begin to get colder, and colder. He flicked his silver eyes around, searching for anything unusual. Maybe he would hunt on the way back? He sighed, Windclan, wherever they are, must be starving . Wherever they are. He sighed and turned as he begun to make his way around a rock the sound of pawsteps drew closer, and closer. Suddenly something burst from the darkness under the rock and right into his front right shoulder. He yowled in astonishment, and anger. He unsheathed his claws and jumped to his feet Why I-- He bared his teeth at the smaller, strange, dirt and damp air smelling cat.

Dustpaw scrambled to his paws...
Dusktalon scented another cata dn then a yowl cleared the still air. Dusktalon bounded through the bush and over a log. He then saw a black cat baring his fang threatening Dustpaw. He snarled and then got infront of the large apprentice another hissed escaping his teeth as he bared them at the cat. He was tense. He didn't dwell on the scent barely noticing who it was.
Dustpaw stared blankly at the larger cat who fitted himself between him and the black cat. He reconized him as Dusktalon the warrior who was now incharge while Elkstar was gone. He backed up giving them room untill he looked at the black cat. R.Ravenstar? He though he'd never seen the Thunderlcna leader so close up.

Apprentices, mainly younger cats, honestly didn't like paying attention to where they were going, or where they were at. Ravenstar flexed his claws, he wasn't going to attack the apprentice, but if the apprentice tried anything... He stared at the apprentice as he pushed himself to his paws, but as soon as he did that another dust and damp smelling cat emerged from the darkness, stepping between him and the apprentice. Ravenstar took a step back, not out of fear, merely to give himself some room. His hackles were still raised as he stopped baring his teeth and stared menacingly at the older cat. In the back of his mind something clicked but didn't register, he ignored it. He lifted his head and gazed at the cats for a long moment before speaking in a low growl, "Who are you, and what do you think you are doing on Thunderclan grounds?" He flicked his tail to his side before waiting for an answer, he silently hoped he would get a reasonable one.

Dusktalon growled. "Dustpaw back to the tunnels..."
"But-"
"Now!" Dusktalon snapped.
Dustpaw backed and then turned away, he gave Ravenstar an appoligizing glance. How could he not have seen the cat. He then ran back to the tunnels. He knew he was going to be in trouble and he walked into the saftly of the tunnels and waited in the darkness. He'd wait for Dusktalon to return.
Dusktalon's tail twiched and he too backed up giving room and he relaxed slightly. He now reconized this was Ravenstar leader of Thunderclan. "My appoligees." He then stood stright and up right proud and strong. His eyes breifly meeting the other cat's. "Dusktalon of Windclan." He then said he was still tense and his eyes were sharp and watched as Ravenstar's tail twiched. He waited for the leader to speek. The tom then began to think about what his next move would be, wondering what Ravenstar was thinking.

Sometimes you have to remember to remember your past, even if you don't ever want to.
Ravenstar watched as Dustpaw dove back into the darkness, into the tunnels. He flicked his ears and then turned his gaze to the warrior. My apologies. He nodded as if to say 'it's okay'. Then his blood ran cold when he heard the dusk part of the warriors name and the Windclan part. "Dusk....?" he managed to stammer before averting his gaze and thinking for a moment. Then he paused, "Wait...Windclan?" His eyes widened and his heart beat faster, There alive! He looked into Dusktalons eyes before speaking, "Nice to meet you Dusktalon. If I may ask, is Windclan alright?"

Dusktalon watched Ravenstar fora moment something seemed familiar about the cat but nothing came to mind. Ravenstar's question came to him. Of course the leader wondered if Windclan was alright. He then remembered at the gathering not to show weakness and Dusktalon did so. "Windclan is fine." The dusk color tom didn't say anything about Elkstar being missing. And he'd learned not to say anything that didn't call for. Last thing he needed for his clan was a raid and at the moment Dusktalon didn't feel all to thrilled to be telling Ravenstar anthing vital about Windclan's state.

((hmm for a little.....addition to this thread I am going to add Everpaw, Ravenstars daughter and Dusks half-sister. ^^))
Ravenstars silver eyes gazed into Dusktalons as he spoke. But he wasn't exactly paying attention, Dusk had the same eyes as Moonshines son. He shook his head and looked away Windclans fine eh? "If Windclan is fine, then why are you in the tunnels? And why does your territory smell strange?" He flicked his eyes back to Dusktalon, thinking of where to go next. Then he took a chance "Dusk...talon, is your family from...Windclan?" he paused and went to continue, "I mean do you know ---" He was interrupted.
A smaller apprentice aged she-cat made her way through the forest, she had a raven colored looking pelt but when it shone in light it looked almost russet. She had long legs and silvery amber like eyes, she wasn't quite sure where she was going. She paused when she scented Ravenstar, and a strange scent with it. Curious, and worried about her leader, and newly discovered father, she padded faster and around the bend. She didn't realize he had begun to speak before she called "Hello Ravenstar." She dipped her head before looking to the tomcat she had stopped next to, she flicked her tail at him, "Who are you?"

ooc:Alright
Dusktalon thought about his answer. If he told he'd been maybe putting his clan in danger of raid or something of the sort. He didn't know what to say and hesitated now. You know the tunnels they don't you have the advantage if there was a raid. The tom was carful choosing his words. He looke dup again looking away from the smaller cat who just came. "The strange scent you are smelling on our territory is the scent of bobcats. They seem to have a leader themselves." Dusktalon began. "Windclan lost a few cats in our battle with them, but we are still strong and awaiting out chance for a counterattack."He meowed in respose. "And yes I am not originally from Windclan but have been there since a newborn. I know nothing of my parents and the other cats say my father was a respectable cat." He continued. He then turned his gaze to the younger cat beside Ravenstar. "And you can call me Dusktalon." He said to Everpaw.

Ravenstar looked from Everpaw to Dusktalon before thinking about what to say next. Then he froze for a moment before speaking again. "You mean that some other cat has taken over Windclan?" His voice was nervous, but he tried to hide it. He hoped silently that Dusktalon knew that Ravenstar would not invade Windclan, he hoped he knew he would help him. He flicked his tail to Everpaw, "What are you doing out here?"
Everpaw smiled at Dusktalon and nodded, "Neat name!" She waved her tail back and forth for a moment before speaking again, yet randomly. "Raven's my father! His warrior name was Ravenstrike!" She smiled at an uneasy looking Ravenstar before continuing, "He was a loner for awhile, and will always be a loner at heart.

Dusktalon drew back abit. That name... Something in him told him to remember it to think hard about it. It was something important. He shook off the feeling. He looked to Ravenstar, tryign to see past his eyes. "These bobcats are massive in size and look like cats but are bigger. And they are not to be taken lightly. Windclan is dealing though." Dusktalon meowed. He wasn't sure what to say only way for anyone to understand was for them to see these bobcats for themselves. Dusktalon wondered if maybe Ravenstar had seem Elkstar he'd been missing for a long time now and he was named deputy by the clan. Windclan was his resposibity and he had to be careful of how much he said.

Ravenstar stared off in the distance for a moment remembering his past, amongst other things. Swishing his tail he brushed Everpaw's shoulder to get her attention, when she looked to him he said "Why don't you stay here or hunt awhile?" He looked to Dusktalon, a haunted look in his eyes. "Bobcats?" He remembered stories. "May I ask if Elkstar is alright? Last time I heard he had not yet named a deputy. Please, if Windclan needs anything, anything at all Thunderclan is here." He glanced to the tunnels, Windclan must be in deep trouble if they were in the damp tunnels.

Dusktalon paused. "I am deputy by the clan's choice and Elkstar is out at the minute." The tom said. He didn't know where Elkstar was and hoped his leader would come home soon but Ravenstar didn't have to know unless he could peice the puzzle together. Dusktalon remembered the stories about Thunderclan helping Windclan, many many years ago. Dusktalon knew Windclan could deal with the bobcats. His clan wasn't weak as others thought. "Windclan is fine." Dusktalon didn't show weakness in his voice. It wasn't his place to ask for help from another clan. What is Windclan's problem stays in Windclan he knew they would pull though.

Ravenstar gazed nervously at Dusktalon, Windclan wasn't fine. He swished his tail to his side and looked to the tunnels, "Elkstar made a good choice." He stood there silently for a moment, the entrance to the tunnels were located near the Windclan border, the smell of Bobcats drifted over the border. He was about to ask Dusktalon another thing when the scent of bobcat grew stronger and stronger. Ravenstar looked to Dusktalon for a split second, he didn't want to stay around to find out what the bobcats could do, plus he didn't want to lead them to his clan.

Dusktalon turned toward the border. Were the bobcats closing in on Thunderclan? He turned slighting he imagined Dustpaw was waiting. He suddenly felt fear of the bobcats picking up on the apprentice. He didn't want to be rude though espcially infront of another leader. He looked into the Thunderclan leader's eye and that question whirled in his head again Do I know him? He was stalling. "Ravenstar I must go."Dusktalon meowed. He dipped his head turning toward the tunnels.
