"Sure I would," Silversun said. "Cat'sve said I'm pretty understandin' -- I don' need t'know if y'don't want me to, you know. But if you want me to, go right ahead." She was curious, as she often was -- Stargazer seemed to know something, the way she stared hard at Dante, hateful. Perhaps she could feel it in her bones; Silversun always knew Star had stronger senses than she let on. Fact of the matter was this: Silversun wanted 'in.' So far she'd found no god, solid reason to trust Darkpaw that would settle with her, other than his being Stargazer's friend. He seemed nice enough, but haunted, somehow: Silver's idea was that if she found out what, exactly, haunted him, she would understand. Not be so judgemental, as Stargazer always said.
[So short, sorry.]

You didn't seem so forgiving earlier today, Darkpaw thought shamefully, staring at the sky. Where to start...
" My father, he was the son of a powerful leader of Shadowclan, and believed that he should be the next in line for 'the throne'. But, when the deputy at the time died, grandfather didn't choose him. So, father killed that one. Then the next and the next and the next. Finally, after a whole month, a new deputy was chosen, the day before my grandfather died."
Darkpaw took a moment to recall what his father had told him during his training. It was forced fed to him as some sort of positive propaganda, but he managed to pick through the sugar coated dirt and get right to the golden core.
" Father was furious, and went to my mother. She left her medicine cat apprenticeship, and followed father to the ends of the earth. Together they schemed and killed and planned. But, took a break for mother to have two litters. Dante, the first of the first, was to be the heir. So, taking in fathers paw-steps, killed his brother and sister. He got it good for that. The 'family' was to be an army, trained especially by father, for father. So my litter was fairly protected. "
Looking behind him, he saw Dante give him a cynical glance before entering the medicine cat den, limping and shaking as if he were in pain. Darkpaw shuddered and turned back to Silversun, gazing blankly into her eyes.
"He was to carry on the tradition, once father was made leader. But, that never happened, did it? Father and mother decided to start their own clan, and take over the forest. Dante would have one half, father would take the other."
He paused, ready to move onto his life, but not if Silversun didn;t show any interest. So, he waited for a quizzical remark, before continuing.

"Screwby, she cursed, spitting. "Those sorts of cats, y'know, never any good. Smarties they are, though. Unfortunantly. They need to find a better use for that." A thought hit her hard, and her eyes widened. "That Dante cat, he's not...thinkin' of tryin' to take Thunderclan, is'e? All by himself?"
She knew, she knew well, that he never could. But if he had a group with him, like Rojor did, well. A group like that, she thought, they can do almost anything. They're throw themselves in the middle of Thunderpath if 'e says so. Crazy. He continued and she listened, glancing at the Medicine Cat's den as Stargazer poked her muzzle inside. "She knows all this, don't she?" Silversun asked, curiosity getting the better of her.

"I don't know," Darkpaw said, answering both of Silversuns questions at once. He doubted that Dante would take over the clan by himself... "He told us that he murdered some leader and took over the pack-oh whats his name- Stargazer knows him...Rojor?" He asked, shaking his head. "Anyway, he seemed quite upset over the whole thing. Said most of the pack had been killed in a fight with kitty pets and other rouges or something, and that he'd had enough of this Rojors Tyranny and challenged him, winning and killing him. Then they went up into the mountains or something, and more died. So they disbanded." The dark cat paced nervously, not having many friends in the clan, he felt in danger. If Dante flapped his tongue to the whole clan about what he said he'd done, then Darkpaw would have no one. "I dunno about this Silversun, I dunno..."
Dante, lying in the medicine cats den, began to pretend to sleep, formulating a little plan inside his intoxicated mind. It was perfect. Darkpaw would soon be gone, and the forest would be his for the taking. Perfect.

"Rojor's been--" Silversun paused, almost frozen to the spot. A dreamy smile lit up her face, but it fell to a frown almost instantly. Rojor's been killed, she thought. The pack is gone. Her family-- "I gotta go...lay down." she murmured, rising to her paws and stumbling off toward the warrior's den. She winced, almost falling, before making it inside safely and collapsing on her claimed bed of moss. Rojor's dead.
Stargazer watched curiously after Silversun. "He's sleeping," she said suddenly, motoning back to the Medicine Cat's den. "What...what do you think we should do with him, comrade? Should we send him on his way when he's well enough to walk?" she paused suddenly, muttering an almost-silent 'I'm sorry' to her friend. She watched him apologetically, wishing she hadn't asked so many questions at once. What about Ravenstar? she wondered. What would he say?

Darkpaw watched Silversun curiously, tilting his head from one side to the other ever so slightly. His eyes narrowed and widened as he tried to pin-point the emotion he was getting from her, but couldn't. "Yes," he murmered as she walked away, "Rojor 's dead..." What a...strange reaction, the dark tom reflected. Silversun had never been very level headed though, not by their record together, that is. He shook his thick head, oh well, and turned around to face Stargazer.
Darkpaw blinked with surprise. She spoke a mile a minute, he thought tiredly, maybe he needed to follow Silversun's example and take a quick nap. He continued blinking, his eyes feeling quite heavy. Perhaps his little bi-polar episode there was too much for him, but his eyes were ready to fall. "Stargazer," he said, respect deepening his voice, "We... should let him live, but I don't know if he should walk. What if he lied, and he's still got a clan at his back? If he was let out, then he'd come back with the lot and kill us all..." He groaned painfully, turning his head to the clouds. "Oh, Stargazer, what have I done?" A sick feeling started in the pit of his clenched stomach, and made it's way to his head. He staggered over to a patch of shade along the wall of the camp. "I've killed us all..."
