Darkpaw looked away sharply. He kneaded the ground nervously. How could he put this? Deathfangs sharp screech reminised through his rattled brain. " Easy? If it were easy...!" He sighed heavily. " Sorry. No, it wasn't easy."
He remembered his kithood retchedly. His ears pinned back. His eyes seemed to droop with sadness. " Deathfang and Dimmingfire, were determined to take over Shadowclan. Once my litter was old enough to fight..." He shook his head sadly. "They intended on using us to kill the leader." He stood, turned his back to Stargazer, his tail drooping. " I believed them. But they were found out-we were found out. I was in love with the cats daughter. But I had to go. I had to, 'cause Shadowclan wouldn't keep me, and my father would kill me if I didn't." He sat, bowing his head, remembering. He let out a slight scoff. " She was killed anyway, so it don' matter, does it? Love..doesn't exist. Death. Death does."

"Oh, Darkpaw," Stargazer said sadly. "You have lost so much in your young life, but do not give up on love." She shook her head. "You are far too young, Darkpaw, to give up on love. Your parents were foolish, Rojor was foolish. Do not let a death cloud your memory and your future, comrade. You will be miserable if you do. I have seen it firsthand. "Rojor's daughter was a young, kind she-cat. She fell in love around the same age that you did, Darkpaw, and Rojor took her love out from under her paws. She could not let it go; she went completely mad and, in the end..." Stargazer paused for a breath, shuddering. "Took her own life. Her stomach was large with kits, and they couldn't live without her." She shook her head again, eyelids lowering until her eyes were shut. "I pity Rojor. Somehow, I can find it in my heart to pity him. When you pity something, your hate leaves you. I know that I, personally, feel better without the burden of hate. I only wish that Map--"
Stargazer spun as another young cat entered the clearing, her eyes widening. At first, she thought it was Silversun by the quick way the cat walked; perhaps she had heard, perhaps she was angry? No, it was an apprentice. The gray warrior let herself relax. Disruption came at fine times, once in awhile. She was almost glad, almost disheartened by it. "No, no, you don't need to leave, comrade. Darkpaw and I were merely conversing of...small things." She eyed the young tom, giving him a weak smile.

Darkpaw only nodded half heartedly to what Stargazer was saying. It was true; he didn't believe in love. Kits had to be made, it doesn't mean love has to be in play. He sighed heavily, his chest heavy with retched memories and the realization that he would never be able to love another cat. " Thank's Stargazer, thats a nice thought...but nothing will ever change." he mumbled, just out of ear shot of Dartpaw as she entered the small clearing.
He didn't know Dartpaw very well. He hadn't been speaking to really many cats before Stargazer and Silversun, especially not other apprentices. She seemed a little... he didn't know the word for it... not all there. Seemed like her head was in the clouds. He wasn't very good with personality annalysis, however. Maybe he was wrong. " Fine, Dartpaw. Fine." He mumbled.

Stargazer looked over Dartpaw's head at the tom, her gaze pleading. Love has hurt so many, she thought sadly. Love is why I am being sought for revenge. Love is why so many have had their lives taken sharply from them. Her eyes lowered to Dartpaw, her mood grim. She put on a kind smile, however, for the apprentice's sake.
The sleek gray warrior shook her head. "No, you don't need to hunt for us, comrade. Thank you. Darkpaw and I had been hunting a while before you came along, so we've eaten our fill." It was a lie, of course, but there was nothing possible to give it away. It reminded her to much of things past. Lying came as a second nature to her. It was too easy, she thought, it's too easy still. But it's not going to hurt anyone, she reminded herself.
"I am feeling well, thank you. How are you, Dartpaw?" Stargazer asked, trying the name. She was glad Darkpaw had said it; she wasn't familiar with the apprentice personally, she didn't know her name. Again, a weak smile in Darkpaw's direction as if she were trying to lighten the mood. Instead, she was trying to lighten her own. She felt a bit too old.

[Hey Liz, I'm gonna skip you mainly 'cause you really don't have much to reply with. "xD If you mind, I can delete my post and reply after you. <3]
Excited, Stargazer thought. Her calm disposition kept her quiet as the apprentice spoke, making the warrior's ears lower a hardly-visible notch with nervousness. The apprentice didn't frighten her, not at all, but Stargazer was...Stargazer. Gazed at the stars, the moon. She wasn't too fond of chatting, despite Silversun's constant talk. Perhaps, she thought absent-mindedly, that is why I enjoy her friendship. She speaks and I...listen. It put a smile on Stargazer's face.
"Silver? Patient? I suppose," she mused, shrugging. "I wouldn't exactly describe her as...patient, comrade. More...hot-headed. I suppose."

Darkpaw hissed impatiently. " I am fine Dartpaw!" He stood and padded away to stand next to Stargazer, his pelt bristling. Not like it mattered anyway. But he needed help, really and honestly he did. And she just came and butted in like it was all her business. She seemed to be everywhere, all the time. It freaked him out. He'd get used to her, he guessed. Darkpaw turned to Stargazer and whispered, out of earshot of Dartpaw, " I think I'm going to... go for a walk or something. Check the borders." He paused uncertainly. " I-I'll see you around." To Dartpaw he nodded and said, almost appologetically, " I'm going to go, Dartpaw. You two have a good chat." And walked off into the forest.
He didn't have to go very far to go to where he wanted to go. The Sky oak seemed to be stroking the clouds with its leafy fingers as the wind blew them around. He couldn't look up far enough to see the top, but he knew that that must mean this was a huge tree. Probably hundreds upon hundreds of years old. He sighed heavily and shifted the leaves around in the crook of a root, curling into the moss. A bush grew right up against the trunk, covering him from sight. It was a fragrant bush, so he hoped it would mask his scent too. He closed his eyes, but sleep wasn't an option at the moment. He sat and thought, feeling a little bad for leaving Dartpaw when she was just trying to be nice. But he needed some space... and some wisdom from an older and experienced cat. He sighed heavily, burying his face in his paws. I need help...

Stargazer smiled slightly. "Sometimes being excited is good, Dartpaw. Sometimes being calm is good. It depends on the situation." She shrugged a shoulder, again glancing at Darkpaw. This time, instead of seeing him look back to her, he was gone from the spot. Her mind raced. What-- He spoke in a low whisper, she had to strain to hear him completely. "Com--" Stargazer took a quick breath, almost moving forward to stand. Instead, she paused and leaned back again, closing her eyes.
"Goodbye, Darkpaw," she said slowly, biting her tongue. She had the urge to follow him, leave litle Dartpaw behind and go after the poor tom. Old schooling didn't let her move; you have to be polite, she thought. Quickly, the warrior blinked and straightened herself, letting out a quick cough before giving a half-hearted smile in Dartpaw's direction.

Dartpaw flinched when Darkpaw spoke like that.I I I'm sorry.I didn't mean to hurt him or something. She looked at her paws sadly.I'm sorry Stargazer.I just popped in.I didn't mean to interrupt something. She sighed and felt a tear. You can go find him and talk to him.I'll leave if you need me to.

She felt something stab at her heart. Without a word, Stargazer rose to her paws, searching to catch his scent. A few feet away from the sad apprentice, she turned back with a pair of soft yellow eyes. "I'm going to search for Darkpaw," she said hesitantly. "You...you can come with me if you wish, comrade." She turned again, lowering her head slightly as she began on her way.
Whether the apprentice followed or not, Stargazer followed the young tom's scent without looking back. Sky Oak. It loomed above her, reaching to the sky and branching in all directions. The warrior took a breath; some sweet smelling plant was all she could smell; that and water. Her ears lowered further now, and she shook her head sadly. "Perhaps I should not bother him," she said slowly, just in case the other apprentice, Dartpaw, had followed. "Sometimes a cat needs to be alone." She fell silent, laying near the lake's edge, staring into the water at her reflection. Sometimes...

Darkpaw had scented her before she had obviously scented him. The bush was doing him well. His closed eyes opened a slight bit; he could see her sitting by the lake and looking into the waters. She looked so sad, from his perspective. But he didn't know what to do. He was an apprentice and she was a warrior. He was a fairly old apprentice, now closing in on his 10th moon. But warriors hardly ever made friends with warriors. He didn't know if it was appropriate from him to go see her. He was just having another one of those... identity crisis's or something.
Go see her, she came all this way to find you. Sighing with the effort, his left haunch stinging him, he emerged from the bush. Padding slowly forward, as if he were being weighed down by everything that had and could ever happen, he stood just behind and a little to the left of Stargazer. " Stargazer..." He said, his deep voice heavy and fogged with depression.
